On this reasonably warm day in May, I set out to capture this absolutely GORGEOUS couple for their engagement shoot. We met up in the afternoon hours and drove to Myrtle Creek hoping for good light and no rain! This is Oregon though, so weather-wise you never really can tell. You know that Oregon saying "If you don't like the weather, wait five minutes"? It definitely applied to this day!
We arrived at Millsite Park in Myrtle Creek around 4:15 and immediately got rained on! We went underneath the half shell to hide from the rain, but we didn't have to wait long. Within five minutes the rain stopped just as suddenly as it started, and we ran back out to get a few shots underneath the canopy of trees that lined the walkway beside the park. From there on out, Mother Nature was pretty awesome to us!
We took full advantage of the bursts of bright sunshine...
...and used the soft light from cloud-cover to capture some romantic portraits under the trees.
The Neal Lane Covered Bridge is just a few minutes away from Millsite Park, and a beautiful spot to get some great portraits. Having grown up in this area added a nice personal touch to Tasha and Kyle's engagement photos, too.
Before we decided to call it a day, we made one last stop on the way out of town. Kyle and Tasha kicked up the romance for these last few shots. Freeeowww!!!
Thank you sooooo much Tasha and Kyle for braving the elements (we nearly cancelled when the rain started at 3!), and for walking all over the MC area with us! It was a great time, and I am really, reeeaallly excited for your October wedding!
Special thanks also to my assistant for this engagement shoot, Janae of Janae Kristine Photography. You rocked this session, girl, even when my softbox was trying to catch wind and fly away with you, hahaha. Can't wait to work with you again!
